MUMBAI: The Mumbai Suburban Collector has written to the civic body and asked it to conduct a survey on any lease conditions that may have been breached by actor Shah Rukh Khan when he constructed the illegal ramp outside his bungalow in Bandra (West). The BMC has to submit its report in one month.

Godfrey Pimenta, an activist, had complained against the actor for the illegal construction of a ramp in the Coastal Regulatory Zone (CRZ). The actor had paid Rs1.93 lakh as penalty for the construction, which was later demolished by the BMC. The civic body had issued a notice to the actor in March 2015. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888, and the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, says the BMC can recover from the owner the cost it incurs on demolition of any illegal construction.
