TWO BODIES WASH ASHORE AT JUHU AND VERSOVA BEACHES

MUMBAI: Police fished out two bodies of a woman, 17, and a man, 19, from Juhu and Versova respective­ly. According to police sources, the girl’s uncle Mohammed Arif Qureshi, registered a case of kidnapping at Versova police station on Tuesday night after Nasreen alias Shifa did not return home. On further enquiry it was revealed that Fazal and Shifa left from Sakinaka with their friends for Versova beach on Tuesday at 12.30pm. Police suspect that the duo could have drowned during high tides.

AI flight makes emergency landing at Mumbai airport

MUMBAI: An Air India flight AI 985 (Ahmedabad-mumbai- Muscat) had to make an emergency landing at Mumbai airport due to hydraulic leakage. The flight had 176 passengers on board.

‘19 cases of leptospiro­sis recorded in Maharashtr­a’

MUMBAI: Nineteen cases of leptospiro­sis have been recorded across the state this year, said state health minister, Dr Deepak Sawant. However, there have been no deaths. There has been a 50% decline in dengue cases compared to last year.

Cong, NCP meet to plan for monsoon session
