NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with farmers assembled in Krishi Vigyan Kendras in over 600 districts through video-conferenci­ng on Wednesday. The dialogue was aimed at reaching out to rural Indians many of whom protested a crash in commodity prices. He used the Narendra Modi App to chat with select farmers, who shared their success stories and exhorted others to emulate their farm techniques and choices.he said that his government was working to fulfil its promise of doubling farm income by 2022.

Remove encroachme­nts around Corbett in a day: HC

NAINITAL: Hearing a public interest litigation filed in 2012, the Uttarakhan­d high court on Wednesday directed the state government to remove the encroachme­nts by hotel and resort owners on revenue and forest land around the Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) in Nainital and

Almora districts in 24 hours. A division bench of Justices Rajiv Sharma and Lok Pal Singh directed the government to file FIRS against the encroacher­s as well as the state officials who were posted in these two districts during the period when encroachme­nts came up.

Naidu asks Centre to remove limits on aircraft movement

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrabab­u Naidu on Wednesday requested the Centre not to impose restrictio­ns on the movement of civilian aircraft at Visakhapat­nam airport during peak flight hours to facilitate increased number of military flights since it would badly hit the economy of the port city. Naidu wrote a letter to defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, recalling a decision taken by the Indian Navy at a meeting on May 2. The decision would come into effect from November 1.

AIIMS satellite unit to be set up at Madurai village
