From vicepresident to CM to students, Mumbai participates with enthusiasm; several sessions conducted to promote ‘positivity’
Mumbai:emphasising on the need to “build a healthy nation”, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said that yoga needs to be included in school curriculums. Speaking at the World Yoga Day event held at Bandra Reclamation promenade, he said, “Yoga is a valuable gift given by India to the world. It helps build positive energy. To build a healthy country, we have to incorporate yoga as part of the school syllabus.”
The event, organised by Spandan Art, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mumbai chief, Ashish Shelar’s NGO, was also attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mumbai police commissioner Datta Padsalgikar and BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta among others. Yoga sessions were also conducted at Juhu beach, Yoga Institute at Bandra, Gateway of India, Mantralaya, and various schools and colleges.
A group of 20 yoga instructors held yoga sessions in trains on western railways.
