NOVEL METHOD OF CHEATING

Rachita S Banote received a call from a man who posed as an executive of a mobile network service provider. The man shared a 19-digit SIM number and asked Banote to message it to 121, if she didn’t want her SIM to be blocked. He said her number would be switched off for at least 24 hours for the process to upgrade

But her phone didn’t turn on after 24 hours. Her service provider said it was a fake call. When she approached her bank, she found ₹73,100 had been debited from her account.
