JAYA’S APOLLO HOSPITAL ROOM TO BE INSPECTED
CHENNAI: The room at Apollo hospital where late AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa was hospitalised will be inspected on July 29 by the counsel representing the panel probing her death and those from the side of her aide V K Sasikala. Allowing an application from two lawyers representing the panel seeking to visit the hospital, Justice Arumughaswamy, heading the one man commission, allowed them and two advocates from Sasikala’s side to inspect the room, the emergency and the ICCU units.
‘639 Maha farmers killed themselves in 3 months’
MUMBAI: In Maharashtra, 639 farmers committed suicide between March 1 and May 31 this year due to crop failure, debt and inability to repay bank loans, the state government has said. State revenue minister Chandrakant Patil said in the legislative council in Nagpur Friday in reply to a question by Leader of Opposition Dhananjay Munde. “Of these 639, 188 farmers were declared eligible for compensation as per government schemes,” Patil added.
ED chargesheets Jindal in coal block allocation case
NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday said it has filed a chargesheet against industrialist Naveen Jindal, a former Lok Sabha MP, his company Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and others for money laundering in its probe into the coal block allocation case.
