NEW DELHI: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has lashed out at head coach Ravi Shastri, labelling his comment on this being the ‘best travelling India team in the last 15-20 years’ immature. “These are immature comments. You should not pay much attention to what Shastri says. What he says and when he says things, no one knows. Whichever generation is playing for India, be it Chetan Sharma’s or when I played for India or when (MS) Dhoni played or now when Virat (Kohli) is playing, we are all the ‘Indian Team’,” Ganguly was quoted as saying to India TV.

Murali Vijay signs up for county stint with Essex

NEW DELHI: India opening batsman Murali Vijay on Saturday signed up to play for Essex and will represent them in the remainder of the 2018 County Championsh­ip. Vijay, who was dropped after the first two Tests against England, is keen to return to the ground where he scored 53 in the first innings of India’s practice game. “I was here with the India side about a month ago and saw first-hand just how good the crowd is.
