HOW THE MARATHON WORLD RECORD EVOLVED?
Key stops in marathon world record progression:
Spyridon Louis (Greece) He won the title in the first Olympic Games in Athens in 1896. Khalid Khannouchi (USA) — Set on Apr 14, 2002
This is the first 'world-best' recognised by IAAF. Paul Tergat (Kenya)

The first world record for men's marathon ratified by IAAF. Also, the first record set at Berlin Marathon.

He has run the marathon distance in 2:00:25 in the Nike -sponsored Breaking2 I lack words to describe this day. I am really grateful, happy to smash the world record. They say you can miss it twice but not third time. So I want to thank everyone who has helped me.
