KATUNAYAKE: India women ended their tour of Sri Lanka with a comprehens­ive 51-run win in the fifth and final T20. India thus clinched the series 4-0 with the second match being abandoned due to rain. Batting first, India scored 156 in 18.3 overs with skipper Harmanpree­t Kaur hitting 63 off 38 balls. Her innings comprised three fours and five sixes. Sri Lanka were all out for 105 in 17.4 overs with leg spinner Poonam Yadav taking 3/18.

Stuart Law to leave WI for Middlesex coach’s job

LONDON: Stuart Law is leaving his role as West Indies head coach to take over at Middlesex from next season. The former Australia batsman has signed a four-year deal and will begin duties in January following West Indies’ tours of India and Bangladesh. “It is a great privilege to be asked to coach Middlesex and to accept one of the plum jobs in world cricket,” Law said. “The opportunit­y to work with Middlesex for four years at the home of cricket was too good to decline.”

24 BCCI state units submit compliance certificat­es

MUMBAI: Twenty four state units have submitted compliance certificat­es to the BCCI, having registered their constituti­on in accordance with the Lodha Committee reforms but some have been found to be error prone. The Committee of Administra­tors (COA) met in Mumbai on Tuesday to take stock of the compliance report submission by the state units. It was learnt that all 37 affiliated units have communicat­ed with the BCCI with 24 submission­s taking place while 13 others have given in writing that they have started the process.

TN, Bengal suffer shock losses in Vijay Hazare

In the third match of the day, Gujarat outplayed Rajasthan by eight wickets.

Elgar replaces injured Amla, Duminy to lead SA

JOHANNESBU­RG: Dean Elgar was added to South Africa’s ODI squad that will take on Zimbabwe in a 3-match series, starting on Sunday. Elgar replaces Hashim Amla, who suffered a finger injury. Faf du Plessis has also been withdrawn as he has not recovered from shoulder injury. JP Duminy will lead the Proteas.
