Will conquer and liberate T’gana from AIMIM: Shah

- Srinivasa Rao Apparasu Amit Shah

HYDERABAD : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday said that his party will conquer Telangana in the ensuing assembly elections and liberate the state from the clutches of All India Majlis-e-ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM)

Addressing a rally in Telangana’s Karimnagar district, Shah accused Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of dancing to the tunes of AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi. He alleged that it was “Owaisi raj” that was reigning supreme in Telangana.

“Though Hyderabad state was liberated from Muslim rulers on September 17, 1948, KCR has not been celebrating it as Hyderabad Liberation Day, as he is afraid of Owaisi. He has promised to enhance reservations to Muslims to 12 per cent only to appease the AIMIM, despite knowing that it is unconstitutional and the BJP government at the Centre is against reservation based on religion. He has also been blind to illegal immigration from other countries,” Shah said.

The BJP president said the Congress was fast losing power everywhere in the country and it will not win even in Telangana. Shah also wondered why the Telangana chief minister dissolved the state assembly nine months in advance and was going in for early polls putting huge financial burden on the state.

“The reason is simple. He thought his party would be swept away in the wave of Modi, if there are simultaneous polls to the assembly and the Lok Sabha. His plan is to anoint his son or daughter as the next chief minister if his party comes to power again,” he said.

Reminding KCR of his promise of making a Dalit as the chief minister of Telangana in 2014, Shah sought to know whether the TRS chief would stick to his promise at least in 2018.

The BJP president also pulled up KCR for failing to fulfil the promises he had made before 2014. “None of his programmes and schemes were implemented completely. The Mission Bhagiratha, taken up at a cost of Rs 15,000 crore, has not been able to provide drinking water supply to the people. Telangana accounts for highest number of farmers’ suicides – 4,500, in the last four years,” he alleged.

Shah explained in detail what the Modi government had done to Telangana in the last four years and how the TRS government had failed to implement several central schemes in the state.

“Neither KCR nor Rahul Gandhi can deliver the kind of development what Modi ji has done for Telangana in the last four years,” Shah said.
