DEONAR: MINOR RAPED BY TEEN RELATIVE

MUMBAI: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her relative in Deonar on Saturday. The police arrested the accused, a 17-yearold, in the connection. According to the Deonar police, the accused stays in the same neighbourh­ood. The accused entered the girl’s house when her mother was out and allegedly forced him on her. The girl’s mother returned and caught the accused. The police have registered cases against the minor involving sections of the Indian Penal Code section 376 (punishment for rape) and sections 4 (penetrativ­e sexual assault), 8 (sexual assault), 12 (sexual harassment) of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO).

‘BMC spent ₹1,100 cr in 10 yrs to purchase 98 plots’

MUMBAI: Amid the ongoing inquiry on losing a ₹500 crore plot at Jogeshwari, Congress corporator Ashraf Azmi has claimed that the Brihanmumb­ai Municipal Corporatio­n (BMC) has spent ₹1,100 crore in the past 10 years to purchase 98 plots reserved in the earlier developmen­t plan. Azmi demanded a detailed report on the status of these plots and the number of amenities constructe­d so far.

Dombivli: Senior citizen killed in bike accident

DOMBIVLI: A senior citizen was killed in a road accident after a speeding two-wheeler hit her at Manpada in Dombivli on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Girijabai Sawant,70, was crossing the road she was hit. Police have tracked the number of the biker and will take the help of RTO to nabbed the accused.

25yrold casting agent jumps to death in Vasai

VASAI: A casting agent jumped to death in Vasai on Wednesday evening. Police said 25-year-old Satyam Mishra, a resident of Waliv, had taken ₹50,000 from a client to cast her in films. When he could not do so for months, the client had asked him to repay the money. She threatened to lodge a case with the police, in case he failed to do so. The Waliv police have registered a case of accidental death. RAM PARMAR
