VASAI: The Waliv police are on the lookout for a 30-year-old man for murdering his 50-year-old sister-in-law in Momen Colony on Thursday. The man, identified as Kadir Hussain Shah, also stole gold worth ₹50,000 and ₹30,000 in cash while fleeing, said inspector Prakash Birajdar.

5 minors sexually assaulted by unidentifi­ed accused

MUMBAI: The Wadala TT police on Thursday registered a case against an unidentifi­ed accused for allegedly sexually assaulting five minors aged between 10 and 15 years on Thursday. Police said the incident occurred on the terrace of an abandoned building in Sion, where the children were playing. The police are looking for CCTV footage to get leads of the accused. “We suspect that the accused had followed the minors from the playground. He took advantage of the fact that the children were alone,” said a police officer from Wadala TT police station.

45-yr-old held for selling ganja worth ₹29,000

THANE: A 45-year-old woman has been arrested by the Wagle

Estate police for selling ganja worth ₹29,000. Police have not revealed the identity of the woman yet and are probing the case to know if more people are involved. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The arrested woman runs a flower business in Thane.

23-year-old rides bike without number plate, held

KALYAN: A 23-year-old man has been arrested for riding his two-wheeler rashly near Ganesh ghat area of Kalyan. Police said Karan Gaikwad was riding a new bike without a number plate, accompanie­d by two more people. The Kolshewadi police have seized the bike and a case has been registered against Gaikwad for rash and negligent driving.

Matheran toy train gets AC coach, fare to be ₹415

MUMBAI: Central Railway (CR) will introduce an air-conditione­d coach on the Neral-matheran toy train from Saturday. The fare for the AC coach will be ₹415. “The coach will operate two services in a day between Neral and Matheran stations,” read a CR statement.
