JMJ come from behind to beat Colaba in MDFA First Division

MUMBAI:JMJ Sports Club made a spirited comeback as they beat Colaba Sports Club 2-1 in their First Division match of the MDFA League, played at the Neville D’souza ground, Bandra, on Friday.

Rohan Pakhdure had drawn first blood for the Colaba side before Ankit Chavan and Reuben Feranandes scored a goal apiece to help JMJ Sports Club snatch victory. In a Second Division encounter, Samuel Football Academy blanked Grey Atheltics (Tipu Sultan) 2-0 with Sameer Tadavi and Harshad Dudhwadkar scoring for the winners. SAI, NISHA SCORE IN BODYLINE’S VICTORY

Bodyline SC prevailed over Future Stars SC 4-2 in their Super Six tie of the WIFA Women’s Football Championship, played at the Cooperage football stadium, on Friday.

Strikers Sai Sankhe and Nisha S scored a brace each to secure Bodyline’s win. S Sahu and Pratkisha K netted a goal each for the losing side.

SHRIKRISHNA STUNS SITWALA

Tamil Nadu youngster S Shrikrishna (-400 handicap) pulled off a major upset at the Chembur Gymkhana Handicap Billiards Tournament on Friday as he beat senior pro Dhruv Sitwala (-500) of Hindu Gymkhana to march into the semi-finals.

The 18-year-old showed great temperament to win by just 24 points against the former twotime Asian billiards champion.
