KALYAN: A day after four people were injured after a cylinder exploded at a chawl in Kalyan, the police registered a case on Friday. Senior inspector B Kadam of Khadakpada police station said, “An accident case has been filed for now. We are contacting the gas company to understand what triggered the explosion despite the mechanic’s presence.”

₹1.5 lakh stolen from post office in Kopri

THANE: Around ₹1.5 lakh was stolen from a post office in Kopri on Friday at 11.30am. A police complaint has been registered and a team has been formed to arrest the thieves, said an officer from Kopri police station.

KOLHAPUR: Two chain snatchers stole a gold chain worth ₹52,000 that belonged to Pratima Gandhi, 51. The duo approached Gandhi on the pretext of asking directions and snatched her chain.
