NOISE RULES

Noise can affect the health of citizens and continuous exposure to levels above 80db could lead to partial hearing loss, as per WHO. According to Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, residential areas should have a level of 55db during day and 45db at night. "We have limited the number of bands and processions to cap the noise pollution levels. A lot of precautions have been taken with the presence of the police. This will continue for the next 10 days till the fair lasts," said

deputy commissioner of police (Zone V).
