Manas claims 10 as Anjuman register impressive win

MUMBAI: Manas Mukadam claimed 10 wickets in the match as Anjuman-i-islam English defeated VK Krishna Menon Academy by 69 runs on Day Two of their Giles Shield Super League match on Friday.

Sujit Dalvi, a leg-spinner for Anjuman-i-islam, also impressed as he returned with a sevenwicke­t match haul, at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana in Dadar.

Shreyansh Mishra’s unbeaten knock of 129, Mohit Tanwar Singh’s 93 and half-centuries from Shlok Sawant (52) and Owais Khan (58) powered Rizvi Springfiel­d High School to a daunting first-innings total of 463 for six declared against Vidya Prasarak Mandal (Dahisar).

Mohit Tanwar claimed five for 18 to help Rizvi enforce follow-on, and VPMS produced a much better show in the second innings with Kaushik Shukla scoring 100. MUMBAI CRUSH TRIPURA BY INNINGS AND 86 RUNS

MUMBAI: Mumbai crushed Tripura by an innings and 86 runs in their under-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy match played at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC, here on Friday.

The hosts had put themselves in the driver’s seat with a huge first-innings total of 517 for six declared, bolstered by Bhupen Lalwani’s 167 and Hardik Tamore’s 109, followed by halfcentur­ies from Armaan Jaffer (63), Shams Mulani (67) and Siddharth Akre (87).

In reply, Tripura did fight back with AA Singh’s 148 to post 319 in the first innings but were blown away in the second for a mere 112.
