Nearly 29 lakh reg­u­lar BEST bus com­muters — the sec­ond largest mode of trans­port in the city — have been has­sled by the strike that be­gan last Mon­day

A three-mem­ber state com­mit­tee headed by chief sec­re­tary DK Jain con­ducted two sep­a­rate meet­ings with union lead­ers and the BEST, BMC ad­min­is­tra­tion on Satur­day. The com­mit­tee is ex­pected to sub­mit the find­ings of the re­port to the Bom­bay High Court on Mon­day

The unions have stated that a de­ci­sion on con­tin­u­ing the strike will only be taken after the case is heard in the court on Mon­day

On Sun­day, only four BEST driv­ers re­ported to work and not a sin­gle con­duc­tor re­ported for duty.
