PATNA: Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan’s daughter, Asha, on Sunday led a sit-in protest against her father for allegedly calling former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi “angootha chhap [illiterate]”. Rabri Devi had in 1997 replaced her husband, Lalu Prasad, as Bihar chief minister after he was jailed in connection with a corruption case. She has no formal education. Asha led the protest in front of LJP’S office, calling her father’s remarks “outrageous”. She is one of Paswan’s two daughters. Asha’s husband, Anil Kumar Sadhu, is an RJD member. Asha said she would continue her protest until Paswan apologises. “… they [Paswan’s remarks] were intended to insult all women...reflect his mindset…,” said Asha.

Chidambaram slams Nirmala for ‘no terror attack’ remark

NEW DELHI: Hitting out at defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman for reportedly stating that no major terror attack took place during the Bjp-led government’s rule, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram asked whether she was giving a clean chit to Pakistan in the Pathankot and Uri attacks. “’There has been no terrorist attack from Pakistan since 2014’ says Defence Minister. Will the Defence Minister take the map of India and locate Pathankot and Uri?” Chidambaram tweeted. “By saying these attacks were not by or from Pakistan, is the Defence Minister giving a clean chit to Pakistan in respect of the Pathankot and Uri attacks?” Chidambaram said.
