AMBATI REPORTED FOR SUSPECT BOWLING ACTION
NEW DELHI: Ambati Rayudu has been reported for a suspect bowling action in the first ODI against Australia, the ICC said on Sunday. “Rayudu’s bowling action will now be scrutinised under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions,” ICC said in a statement. The 33-year-old’s action must be tested within 14 days, but he is allowed to bowl until the results are out.
Rajasthan Royals appoint Paddy Upton as coach
MUMBAI: Rajasthan Royals have brought back former Team India mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton as head coach for the forthcoming IPL. During his earlier stint, Upton was the head coach for four years, reaching the semi-finals of the IPL in 2013.
Ex-goa player collapses during match, dies
PANAJI: Former Goa Ranji player Rajesh Ghodge (44) died after collapsing during a local match in Margao on Sunday. “He was at the non-striker end when he collapsed. He was shifted to a hospital,” a Margao Cricket Club member said. Ghodge was part of the Goa Ranji squad in 1999-2000.
China slump to lowest women’s T20I total
NEW DELHI: China were bowled out for 14, the lowest women’s T20I total, sinking to a 189-run defeat against UAE at the Thailand T20 Smash in Bangkok. UAE scored 203/3. China were all out in 48 minutes and 10 overs and had six ducks with a top score of four.
