On 11 Jan, BCCI suspended Pandya from playing any form of cricket following inappropri­ate comments he made about women on a TV show. The right hand batsman, who lost his endorsemen­t contract with Gillette, later apologised for his insensitiv­e remarks.

Rahul who accompanie­d Pandya for the same TV chat show was also suspended by the BCCI from playing any form of cricket. A top order batsman, Rahul has been criticised for his comments on social media. Both Pandya and Rahul’s suspension is pending an enquiry.
