NEW DELHI: India A rode steady fifties from captain KL Rahul (88) and Priyank Panchal (89) to reach a commanding 219/1 at stumps on the second day of their unofficial Test against England Lions in Wayanad on Friday. Rahul, who opened the innings, and Panchal stitched an unbeaten 171-run partnership for the second wicket. Earlier in the day, England Lions lost their last five wickets for just 37 runs as they could reach only 340 despite a solid start. Holder set for County stint with Northamptonshire
ST LUCIA : West Indies skipper Jason Holder will join Northamptonshire for the start of the County season in a move that will give the all-rounder a chance to get used to conditions ahead of this year’s World Cup in England and Wales. Holder will be available for Northamptonshire’s opening two County Championship matches in April against Middlesex and Glamorgan as well as six One-day Cup games.

NEW DELHI: Brisbane Heat overhauled Melbourne Stars’ 156/8 in 10 overs in their Big Bash League match in Brisbane on Friday. Max Bryant’s 30-ball 71 and Ben Cutting’s 30-ball 81 helped Heat reach 158/0 in 10 overs. Heat scored 94 in Powerplay, the highest Powerplay total in Big Bash. The Heat moved to fourth place with the win and kept their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals alive.
