₹75-L BANK THEFT IN KOL­HA­PUR, COPS CLUE­LESS

KOL­HA­PUR : Po­lice are clue­less about the rob­bery of cash and gold or­na­ments worth ₹75 lakh kept in a locker of a co-op­er­a­tive bank at Kale in Kol­ha­pur. The rob­bery took place at mid­night on Fri­day. Po­lice sus­pect the in­volve­ment of an in­ter­state gang af­ter scru­ti­n­is­ing CCTV footage and are in­ter­ro­gat­ing labour­ers and ven­dors for fur­ther clues.

2 labour con­trac­tors cheat fac­tory owner of ₹8L, held

KOL­HA­PUR: Two labour con­trac­tors, Deepak Raste and Chan­drakant Awale, res­i­dents of San­gli, were booked on Satur­day for al­legedly cheat­ing a fac­tory owner of ₹8 lakh on the pre­text of sup­ply­ing work­ers to cut sug­ar­cane. The su­per­vi­sor, Maruti Ja­gar, lodged a po­lice com­plaint against the con­trac­tors af­ter they failed to sup­ply work­ers.

85-year-old man dies in road ac­ci­dent at Kol­ha­pur

KOL­HA­PUR: An 85-year-old man died on Satur­day af­ter be­ing hit by an uniden­ti­fied ve­hi­cle near Go­dul­shi­ra­gaon in Kol­ha­pur. The vic­tim, iden­ti­fied as Raghu­nath Salokhe, had stepped out of his home to buy medicines and was on his way back when the ac­ci­dent hap­pened. Po­lice said he died on the spot.
