School teachers will soon be recruited through govt portal
ASPIRANTS HAVE TO LOG ON TO EDUSTAFF.MAHAR ASHTRA.GOV.IN/PAVITRA WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF THE AD TO APPLY
MUMBAI : The Maharashtra government will soon begin recruitment of teachers in government, aided, unaided and private-aided schools through its portal, pavitra.
The state education department recently released a government resolution (GR) setting norms for the recruitment process.
As per the GR, teachers will have to appear for an interview for recruitment after clearing state’s Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Schools that have vacant posts need to give details of vacancies in newspapers.
Aspirants can log on to the portal https://edustaff.maharashtra.gov.in/pavitra/ and apply within seven days from the date of the advertisement.
Unlike the earlier recruitment process wherein school managements shortlisted candidates, now the portal will do so in a centralised manner.
For each teaching vacancy in a private school, a list of 10 eligible candidates will be sent to the school which has to then call candidates for a personal interview. The school will have to send a detailed report after the appointment is complete and all the shortlisted candidates would get to know their scores.
The state education department announced the launch of a common recruitment portal after several complaints of malpractice and irregularities in the process were reported.
The recent GR states that schools not recruiting teachers as per the latest procedure will not get any salaried or non-salaried grant.
Officials from the state education department said the process should begin before the model code of conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections comes into effect.
