SCHOOLS FOCUSSING ON STUDENTS’ HEALTH IS A GOOD MOVE

It was indeed a pleasure to read that colleges in the city have started focussing on their student’s well-being (City colleges shift focus to physical and mental health of their students, February 11). One cannot but appreciate the steps taken by the heads of various colleges for taking this innovative initiative to develop the citizens of future. It is a common sight these days to see students glued to their cellphones. Such initiative­s as taken by the colleges will help them channelise their energy in self-developmen­t. We hope that other colleges take a cue from the efforts of the few and introduce similar programmes. This is certain to cultivate the young minds in the right direction and bring about change in the attitude to groom them to face the realities

NEW ZEALANDERS’ NEGATIVE BOWLING SEES THEM THROUGH

It needs to be pointed out that the New Zealanders resorted to blatant negative bowling in order to prevent Team India from scoring the required runs at Hamilton on Sunday (Gritty India fail to cross finish line, February 11). Obviously under instructio­ns, the bowlers sprayed many balls wide off the stumps and the umpires did not take note of all of them.
