Naidu criticising Centre to hide his failures, says Shah
NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah criticised Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in an open letter, for carrying on a malicious propaganda against the centre to divert attention from his failures. Shah said Naidu had gone too far by personally attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The open letter, released on Monday, when Naidu sat on fast in New Delhi to press for special category status for Andhra Pradesh, Shah said the chief minister is back to “theatrics and histrionics”, and his desperation for grabbing headlines was understandable as Naidu is aware that his political fortunes are declining rapidly. Shah blamed Naidu’s “lust for power” for destroying the very anti-congress foundation on which NT Rama Rao founded the TDP. “Congress betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh while dividing the state and now TDP leader wants to work for bringing Congress back to power. His actions smack of political opportunism,” Shah said. The BJP chief said panic has set in now and Naidu is scared that his omissions and commissions would be exposed.
