32-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED FOR RAPING WOMAN

MUMBAI: A 32-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday by Santacruz police for allegedly blackmailing and raping a 22-year-old woman multiple times. The accused blackmailed her with an obscene video of her and also made her go through abortion. The matter came to light after she attempted suicide last week. The duo were distant relatives, police said.

After minor’s rape, cops start drive against addicts

MUMBAI: The Mahim police have started a massive crack down on beggars and drug addicts in Mahim after a five-year-old girl, daughter of a pavement dweller, was raped and murdered by another dweller, Mehendi Hasan Shaikh, 23, earlier this month. NAVI MUMBAI: The Panvel city police on Thursday identified the two body parts found near Panvel station on Monday and Wednesday. The deceased, Amarjeet Singh, aged around 30, was a native of Uttar Pradesh.
