COURT AWARDS DEATH TO FORMER IAF SERGEANT

BATHINDA : A Bathinda court on Friday awarded death sentence to a former Indian Air Force (IAF) sergeant and five-year jail to his wife in connection with the murder of his colleague at Bhisiana Air Force Station in February 2017. The body parts of the victim, Corporal Vipin Shukla, were found packed in polythene bags at the quarters of the convicted couple. “The court handed death sentence to Sulesh Kumar and five-year jail to his wife,” said Sunil Tripathi, the counsel of the complainan­t.

‘Radioactiv­e doll’ fraud now worth ~23 crore: Police

JAIPUR: Jaipur police on Friday claimed that a multi-state fraud promising to sell ‘rare radioactiv­e dancing dolls’ and substances was now of about ~23 crore with four more businessme­n claiming that they were duped of 15.94 crore by the same gang. On March 10, the Jaipur police had arrested 18 persons who ran Mumbai based Rencel India and claimed that they had duped three Pune based businessme­n of ~7 crore in the name of giving them a ‘’rare radioactiv­e dancing doll’’ certified by Defence Research and Developmen­t Organisati­on (DRDO).
