Bhosale Academy clinch Total Cup
MUMBAI: Bhosale Cricket Academy were crowned champions of the Total Cup Under-12 cricket tournament, organised by the Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation at the Oval Maidan, after beating Hindkala Cricket Club by 18 runs in the final.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bhosale Academy made 122 for five in their allotted 21 overs. Tirth Vanarase scored 49 runs with the help of five fours and was well supported by Arya Karle, who was unbeaten on 31.
In reply, Hindkala Cricket Club could only notch up 104 for eight in 21 overs.
Vengsarkar urged young cricketers to stay loyal to the club that provides them the platform at a young age. “There is the tendency of the parents to shift the loyalty time and again, which affects the young mind. Be a consistent performer and you will get selected for Mumbai. Work hard and keep improving all the time,” said Vengsarkar.

Mumbai Police Gymkhana and Evergreen Sports Club will clash for the title in the Santosh Kumar Ghosh Trophy U-16 cricket tournament organised by Sporting Union Club.
Mumbai Police, who were bowled out for 245 on Wednesday, restricted Shivaji Park to three for 62. Varun Ragji (95 runs) and Pratik Konkar (55) put together 118 runs for the fourth wicket to get Shivaji Park back on track. But from thereon, Shivaji Park lost track and were bowled out for 229 runs.
