Manjrekar’s 61 pushes Mumbai to 235 in Col CK Nayudu tie
MUMBAI:MINAD Manjrekar scored a valuable 61 to push Mumbai to 235 against Tamil Nadu, on the opening day of their U-23 Col CK Nayudu contest being played at the BKC here on Tuesday. In reply, Tamil Nadu made a strong start reaching 64 for no loss.
Manjrekar, batting at No 7, faced 41 balls and scored a quickfire 61 with seven fours and three sixes as the rest of the Mumbai batsmen failed to convert their starts. Opener Aman Khan was dismissed for 34, while Vaibhav Kalamkar scored 40. Mumbai were dismissed for 235 in 63.5 overs. For Tamil Nadu, RS Jaganathsinivas was the star performer with seven for 91. TN openers, Gauri Shankar (41*) and R Vimal Khumar (23*) ensured a strong start, as the visitors trailed by another 194 runs.

Tamil Nadu MUMBAI LOSE TO MAHARASHTRA
Maharashtra inflicted a 64-run defeat on Mumbai in their U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy contest on Tuesday, played at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Stadium, Baramati. Chasing 350 to win, Mumbai were bowled out for 286, with Pragnesh Kanpillewar scoring a fine 119.
Mumbai had resumed the final day at 45 for no loss, but they soon slipped to 69 for two. Kanpillewar and Suved Parkar forged a partnership to keep Mumbai’s hopes alive, but once their stand was broken the team lost wickets at regular intervals.
Kanpillewar struck 14 fours and two sixes to score 119 off 187 balls, whereas Parkar cracked nine fours and a six to make 57 off 72 balls. For Maharashtra, RS Hangargekar claimed five for 85 after his three wickets in the first
innings.

MUMBAI BEAT BARODA IN U-14 CLASH
Mumbai claimed victory on the basis of first innings lead in their U-14 West Zone League clash on Tuesday. Batting first, Mumbai put on 235 with Awais Khan top scoring with 80.
Mumbai took a big lead in the first innings when they shot out Baroda for a mere 108 in as many as 53 overs.
