Alli survives knifepoint burglary

burglars broke into Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli’s home in London, the England playmaker escaping serious injury after being hit in a scuffle with the robbers.

Alli, 24, has been in isolation at his house with his brother, their partners and a close friend, the Daily Mail reported.

Two men broke in after midnight and following an altercatio­n with Alli they made off with jewellery early Wednesday. Alli and the other occupants in the house were said to be shaken, but otherwise unharmed.

“Thank you for all the messages. Horrible experience but we’re all okay now. Appreciate the support,” Alli tweeted.

PGA Tour players living outside the US must undergo a quarantine period before playing tournament­s, which are due to restart next month amid the coronaviru­s pandemic, the Tour said on Wednesday.

The PGA Tour is planning a June 11-14 return to action at Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, rolling out a layered testing approach that includes pre-travel screening mandatory for competitio­n.

SAINZ JOINS FERRARI, RICCIARDO TO MCLAREN

driver Carlos Sainz will replace four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari next season, while Daniel Ricciardo has signed a “multi-year” deal with Mclaren from 2021.

Sainz, 25, will leave Mclaren following the 2020 season to partner Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, forming the team’s youngest pairing in the past 50 years.

Ricciardo has won seven races and recorded 29 podium finishes since his F1 debut with the HRT team at the British Grand Prix in 2011.
