Six coronavirus positive cases in three PL clubs
Six positive cases for coronavirus have been detected at three Premier League clubs after players and staff were tested ahead of training return. “The Premier League can today confirm that, on Sunday 17 May and Monday 18 May, 748 players and club staff were tested for Covid-19. Of these, six have tested positive from three clubs,” the Premier League said in a statement on Tuesday.
No details were released over which individuals or clubs are affected. “Players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the league has been told by government experts that Covid-19 restrictions could endure for at least a year across English football.
RONALDO RETURNS TO JUVENTUS TRAINING
Cristiano Ronaldo returned to training with Juventus in Turin on Tuesday after an absence of over two months because of the pandemic.
Ronaldo arrived at the Juventus Training Centre in a Jeep, leaving three hours later with a smile and thumbs up for waiting photographers. Ronaldo underwent medical and physical tests before training individually for the first time in 72 days.
HAVERTZ NETS BRACE AS BAYER BEAT WERDER
Bayer Leverkusen stayed in the hunt for a top-four finish in the Bundesliga after two goals by striker Kai Havertz helped them to a 4-1 win at Werder Bremen on Monday.

NO CLARITY ON SL TOUR YET: BCCI TREASURER
The Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) will wait for more clarity on international travel restrictions before making a call on the limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka in July.
“Nothing has been decided as yet, because we are not sure what would be the travel restrictions then,” BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal told Reuters. “There is no clarity about it.”
