NINE BODIES FOUND IN WELL IN TELANGANA

Mystery shrouded the death of nine people, including six of a family, whose bodies were found in a well, five of them on Friday, near here in Telangana. A day after a 48-yearold man, a worker of a gunny bag stitching unit, and three other members of his family were found dead in the well at Gorrekunta village, on the city outskirts, five more bodies, including that of his two sons, were recovered on Friday. Police Commission­er V Ravinder said. Four bodies were found floating and fished out on Thursday. On Friday morning, some bodies were seen floating following which the police found others. A case under Section 174 of CRPC has been registered. The 48-year-old man had migrated from West Bengal over 20 years ago and had settled down here.

Informatio­n and Broadcasti­ng minister Prakash Javadekar said on Friday. The minister made the announceme­nt during an address to 300 community radio stations functional across the country. The minister said he was eaager to raise air time for advertisem­ents to 12 minutes from 7 minutes on Community Radios currently to bring them at par with TV channels. While 75% of the expenditur­e during setting-up of these stations is borne by the Ministry, daily operations’ expenditur­e is borne by the Stations. The minister pointed out that the stations would not be needed to seek funds if more local advertisem­ents can be relayed on these platforms. Javadekar said the ministry will come out with a plan to increase the number of stations.
