In the second wave marked by more infectious and transmissi­ble strains of Sars-cov-2 , Covid-19 cases in Mumbai surged by four times compared to last year. However, the city’s slum pockets, where the possibilit­y of the virus’ spread was considered to be higher, showed more resilience, while high-rises turned into epicentres of transmissi­on.
