North Korea ups the ante as it fires 3 ballistic missiles

SEOUL: North Korea fired three ballistic missiles towards the sea off its east coast on Thursday, South Korea and Japan said, in the latest such move as the isolated country races to advance its weapons programmes. Three short-range ballistic missiles were fired at around 6:30pm local time from the Sunan area of its capital Pyongyang.

Eleven dead in Cameroon forest aircraft crash YAOUNDE: Nine passengers and two crew died after a plane chartered by a company maintainin­g a major trans-border oil pipeline crashed in a forest in central Cameroon, state radio said Thursday. “All perished in the disaster,” the radio presenter said. It was found in a forest near Nanga Eboko, some 150km northeast of Yaounde, it said.
