SHINDE REMOVED AS LEADER OF SENA

-

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday removed rebel leader and chief minister Eknath Shinde from the post of leader of the party.

In the Sena hierarchy, Neta or leader is a significant post. There are 12 posts of Neta in the party’s executive body.

“You have been indulging in in anti-party activities and have also voluntarily given up your membership,” wrote Thackeray in his letter letter to Eknath Shinde informing him about his removal.

Shinde led the rebellion of 39 MLAS against Thackeray and on Thursday joined hands with the BJP to form a government in the state. Soon after his rebellion, Uddhav Thackeray had removed Shinde as leader of the Sena on the floor of the assembly and appointed Ajay Chaudhary in his place. The Shinde faction, however, has been insisting that theirs is the real Shiv Sena.

The bench remarked that her plea seeking to either quash or stay the proceedings in FIRS against her shows her “obstinate and arrogant char
