MUMBAI: An inspired bowling effort put Air India Sports Club on the verge of victory against DY Patil Group ‘B’ on Day Two of their Times Shield A Division match on Wednesday.

Barde Alam (4/39) led the way as Air India skittled out DY Patil for 86 in their second innings after they were shot out for 107 in their first innings. At stumps, Air India were 74 for one thanks to Shaun Rodrigues unbeaten knock of 49 and needed another 50 runs on final day for victory. Khade, Gaikwad star for Sule Guruji

Eklavya Khade’s all-round performanc­e and Aarya Gaikwad’s second five-wicket haul of the match helped IES VN Sule Guruji beat Vasant Vihar by an innings and 85 runs in their Group B match of the Harris Shield super league on Wednesday.

Khade’s unbeaten knock of 138 helped Sule Guruji declare their innings at 317 for three. Later, he rolled his arm over to scalp four for 13 and with the help of Gaikwad, who took five for 49, bowled out Vasant Vihar for just 124.
