ACTION-PLAN ROAD PROJECTS
Will be classified under two categories – minor (less than 9 meters) and major (over 9 meters). Road repairs will be taken up in a phased manner after studying the severity of the respective situations – mending bad patches, potholes and paved roads. Priority will be given to important thoroughfares that require repairs, especially those that have high vehicular movement. Long-term plan of action includes road widening to decongest traffic.
MANAGING TRAFFIC BOTTLENECKS
To control resuspension of road dust, obstacles will be removed after consulting with traffic police. It will also ease vehicular movement.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
A ward-wise template will be created with information on the number of ongoing construction/ demolition work. This will include flyovers, bridges, rail over bridges (Robs) and foot over bridges (Fobs). The contractor will submit a weekly self-certification to the assistant engineer of solid waste management department. A special inspection drive will be introduced to identify high and frequent action on dust laden major and minor roads.
SOLUTIONS
Dust scraping, road brushing, sweeping and cleaning of all public roads, including highways with special focus on high and frequent dust laden major and minor roads. Water will be sprinkled thereafter in the night. Water foggers to be used during the day to control dust.
