NEW DELHI : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday invited people of Haryana to visit Delhi government schools and hospitals to see his administration’s work.

In an audio message in the Haryanvi dialect ahead of next year’s assembly elections in Haryana, the Delhi chief minister promised to do “better work” than Delhi if AAP comes to power in the neighbouring state ruled by the BJP.

“We improved our schools and hospitals in Delhi. You all should visit them. You will also see the good work we did,” Kejriwal said in the one-minute audio played in the background of his image with folded hands shared by the party.

“We didn’t allow increase in fees of private schools. We even reduced fees of some private schools and people got the money they paid as fees back,” he said.

Kejriwal took a dig at his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar for not accepting his offer for mutual inspections of government dispensaries in Haryana.

“In Haryana, government schools and hospitals are in a bad condition. People have no choice but to go to private schools and pay hefty fees. We did so much work in Delhi in three years, why couldn’t Khattar sahab do it in four years. He says I am lying. I asked him to come and visit the schools and clinics. But he didn’t. He was afraid,” Kejriwal said.

In his second letter to Khattar on Monday, Kejriwal had reminded him of his earlier invitation to visit Mohalla clinics of the Delhi government. In the letter written on November 2, Kejriwal had also wished to inspect state-run dispensaries in Haryana on November 12 (Monday).

“Every other party is trying best to have its chief minister. Defeat all these parties and bring AAP to power. We will do better work that we did in Delhi,” Kejriwal said in the audio

Even though AAP could not win the assembly elections in Punjab last year, the party leadership sees Haryana a potential state for expansion and has already started preparations for the contest.
