PAKISTAN HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST ABORTION RATES IN THE WORLD: STUDY
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has one of the highest abortion rates in the world, according to a report that appeared in a local daily that quoted an NPR study. Abortion in the country has become the means to exercise birth control, and most of these abortions are being conducted in unsafe environments, the report in The Express Tribune said. The paper quoted a recent in-depth story on NPR that revealed the shocking number of unsafe abortions taking place in Pakistan. Estimates cited by the study indicate that 48% of pregnancies in Pakistan are unintended, of which 54% are terminated, mostly in an unsafe way.
Gay Latin singer Kevin Fret shot dead
SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO: Kevin Fret, who is known by many as the first openly gay Latin trap artist, has been killed. The crime is under investigation. The 24-yearold singer was shot dead early on Thursday. According to Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Dia, Fret was riding a motorcycle in the Santurce neighbourhood when he was shot.
Pak claims RAW had a role in Karachi terror attack
KARACHI: Pakistan on Friday said they arrested five suspects from a separatist Baloch group for the November 23 attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi that killed four people, which they claimed was carried out to sabotage the CPEC project. Karachi police chief Amir Sheikh said the attack was planned in Afghanistan and executed with the help of India’s RAW.

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s army chief, General Purna Chandra Thapa, reached New Delhi on Friday on a six-day visit at the invitation of his Indian counterpart, General Bipin Rawat. Apart from holding meetings with Indian defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and NSA Ajit Doval, Thapa will receive the insignia of honorary General of Indian Army by Indian President Ramnath Kovind on Saturday.

DUBAI: A video showing a man locking up fans of the Indian football team in a bird cage ahead of a match with the UAE has gone viral, prompting the authorities to arrest several persons. In the video, the man, brandishing a stick, is seen sitting and talking to several workers locked up in a bird cage.
