WINDIES CALL UP ROOKIE CAMPBELL FOR ODI SERIES

BRIDGETOWN: John Campbell, Carlos Brathwaite and Sheldon Cottrell have been called up to the West Indies squad for next week’s first two ODIS against England. The changes to the 14-man squad were made due to injuries to opening batsman Evin Lewis, as well as all-rounders Keemo Paul and Rovman Powell. It is Campbell’s first call-up for limited over cricket. The 25-year-old made his Test debut in the just completed series against England, which West Indies won 2-1. He scored 176 runs at an average of 35.2.

Boult, Mahmudulla­h fined for misconduct

CHRISTCHUR­CH: New Zealand pacer Trent Boult and Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudulla­h have been fined for breaching the code of conduct during the second ODI on Saturday. Boult was fined 15 percent of his match fee for an “audible obscenity” while Mahmudulla­h was fined 10 percent for “abuse” of equipment for striking the fence with his bat while leaving the field after his dismissal.

South Africa women beat Sri Lanka, clinch series 3-0

POTCHEFSTR­OOM: South Africa women defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in the third ODI of the ICC Women’s Championsh­ip. The hosts thus clinched the threematch series 3-0. Renegades win Big Bash final as Stars implode

MELBOURNE: Aaron Finch’s Melbourne Renegades clinched their first Big Bash League title after city rivals the Stars imploded during a tense run chase. Chasing 146 to win at Docklands Stadium, Glenn Maxwell’s men were 93 without loss and cruising before losing an incredible seven wickets for 19 runs. They finished on 132 for seven, losing the first ever all-melbourne BBL final by 13 runs.
