DJ killed as truck hits scooter

NEWDELHI: A 24-year-old man was killed after a truck hit his scooter and drove over his head near north Delhi’s Azadpur Mandi on Monday night. His 14-year-old neighbour, who was pillion rider, escaped with minor injuries.

Police said the boy panicked after seeing his neighbour’s body with his head crushed and left for home without informing anybody about the accident.

The truck driver drove away with his vehicle. Police said they were trying to identify the truck and nab the driver. A case of rash driving and death by negligence was registered at Azadpur police station.

Police said the man, identified by his single name Monu, was a disc jockey and lived with his family in the Lal Bagh slums in Azadpur. He was returning home from Rohini after work when the accident took place.
