During interaction, CM lists focus areas
AGRA: At the ‘Highway to Progress’ programme of Hindi daily ‘Hindustan’ here on Saturday, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath interacted with the audience regarding policies of his government over the past two-and- a-half years.
Editor-in-chief, Hindustan, Shashi Shekhar, asked the CM about his visit to Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, earlier this month. Adityanath along with his cabinet ministers and bureaucrats had attended a three-part leadership session at the institute that focused on aspects of good governance, financial management and administration among others.
In reply, chief minister said that he felt the need to assess the schemes and transfer its benefit in real sense to common people. “We took a bus provided by UPSRTC and reached IIM Lucknow and I was happy to find ministers staying for 10 hours for sessions at IIM Lucknow. People have vision but implementation is a challenge and we have decided to take it on. 2024 is set as the target year to make UP a $1 trillion economy ,” said the chief minister.
Asked about his achievements and satisfaction with half term over as CM, Adityanath said that satisfaction stops future progress. “We are here to take UP to new heights and instead of my individual satisfaction, welfare of 23 crore UP residents is more important,” he said.
Retired IAS officer Shashi Kant Sharma asked the CM about population pressure. “Population control is need of hour and PM too had made reference in his Independence Day speech. We are working on plan to curb the growth in population,” CM said.
Academician Sanjay Tomar raised issue of women safety and effectiveness of Anti Romeo Squads, to which the CM replied: “We are all for women safety and it is major issue for us. Girls are facing hardship both at home and away from it. Anti Romeo Squad brought confidence to girls...”.
