THE INITIATIVE INVOLVES EACH RESIDENT CALLING OR TEXTING 10 OF THEIR CONTACTS AND REMINDING THEM OF THE GOVERNMENT’S ONGOING ANTIMOSQUITO BREEDING CAMPAIGN

NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday initiated a chain campaign in which he urged residents of the city to call up and send text messages to at least 10 of their friends and relatives to endorse the government’s ongoing antimosquito breeding campaign.

“Every Sunday, once you are done checking your residence for places where water can accumulate and thus lead to mosquito breeding, call up or message at least 10 of your friends and relatives and ask them if they have done the same as well. Encourage them to do that and help Delhi become dengue-free,” Kejriwal said in a video clip posted on social media on Sunday.

On September 1, chief minister Kejriwal had launched an anti-mosquito breeding campaign titled “10 hafte, 10 baje, 10 minute”. The campaign urges residents of the city to contribute 10 minutes of their time at 10 in the morning every Sunday for 10 weeks to check their residences and office premises for water accumulation, which could lead to mosquito breeding, which in turn could lead to vector-borne diseases.
