Man held for ruckus at ex-girlfriend’s house

GREATER NOIDA: A 25-year-old Zimbabwean national was arrested after he allegedly tried to trespass into her former girlfriend’s flat located in a housing society in Beta II, the police said on Monday.

The incident took place in the early hours of Monday, the police said, adding that a complaint was filed by one of the woman’s neighbours after he spotted the man outside the apartment.

The arrested person has been identified as Blessed Tsiga, a resident of the same society. He was in an inebriated state when arrested from the spot, said the police.

The complainan­t Sagar Sehrawat, resident of Casa Grande Earthcon society, informed the police that the incident occurred around 3:30am. Sehrawat said that he was on his way home when he was informed by the security guard that an African national was creating ruckus on the lobby of the fourth floor.

Sehrawat went to the fourth floor along with few others and found Tsiga sitting on the floor and knocking on the door of his ex-girlfriend, the police said.

“The man looked intoxicate­d. We had called the police before approachin­g him,” Sehrawat stated in his complaint.

The police said that Tsiga was very aggressive with the residents and the cops. “The suspect looked under the influence of alcohol. He didn’t cooperate with the police and it took an effort to control him,” said Sujit Upadhayay, station house officer, Beta II police station.

According to the police, Tsiga was pursuing diploma in electrical engineerin­g at a private university. He was booked under sections 323 (voluntaril­y causing hurt), 452 (illegal trespass) and 504 (Intentiona­l insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code.

The suspect was produced in the court and sent to judicial custody.
