AGRA: Dense fog claimed yet another life after a passenger bus rammed a stationary truck, due to the poor visibility, on the Agra-lucknow Expressway on Sunday morning.

The bus fell into a roadside ditch after the collision, killing the driver, who hailed from West Bengal, and injuring three others, police said.

“The accident took place near 2nd milestone on the expressway at around 8am on Sunday when the bus, coming from Lucknow and heading towards Gurgaon (Haryana), rammed into the stationary truck. The bus lost balance due to dense fog and fell into a ditch,” stated Ashok Kumar, in-charge of Doki police station in Agra district.

The deceased driver was identified as 30-years-old Ram Nath.

Police said the body has been sent for the postmortem. The three injured bus passengers were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment, Kumar said.

It was the second accident within a week caused by dense fog. Earlier on Thursday, dense fog had led to pile up of vehicles on Yamuna Expressway connecting Agra with Noida. The mishap had claimed one life and left nine injured. htc
