COLDER DAYS IN STORE, SAYS IMD AS TEMP DIPS, AIR QUALITY WORSENS
NEW DELHI: The minimum temperature in the national capital dipped to 4.2 degrees Celsius on Friday — three degrees below the season’s normal — while calm winds led to a spike in pollution levels, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said. IMD has forecast that the temperature will rise slightly on Saturday, but will fall from Sunday evening.
The the maximum temperature in Delhi on Friday, meanwhile, was 18.6°C — three below normal. The change in the wind direction from north-westerly to easterly caused winds to slow, which led to a spike in pollution levels, IMD officials said.
