BHAJAN SINGER NARENDRA CHANCHAL DIES
NEW DELHI: Popular bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal died following prolonged illness at a hospital here on Friday, hospital officials said.
Born to a Punjabi family in Amritsar’s Namak Mandi, the 76-year-old breathed his last at 12:15 pm at the Apollo Hospital after suffering from brain complications, they added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the singer’s death. “He made a mark in the world of singing hymns with his vibrant voice. My condolences to his family and fans at this hour of grief. Om Shanti,” he tweeted.
