It was a team effort: Rahane on Oz win

A week after India clinched a historic win at the Brisbane Test, captain Ajinkya Rahane says the feeling of victory has “just started to sink in.” Crediting each team member for the win, he says, “It feels really good. I am really proud of each and every member of the team.” When asked if leadership comes naturally to him, Rahane says, “It is for people to say whether it comes naturally to me or not, but for me, I back my instincts and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But as a player, as a captain you have to back your gut feeling.” On his thoughts ahead of the Brisbane Test, he says, “We were confident about playing good cricket. We were not worried about the result, we were not thinking about the outcome. That’s what we did. That’s how we came back into the series at Melbourne. Our thought was all about playing good cricket, showing good attitude, showing that character on the field.”
