Kerala HC notice to Virat, Tamannaah

The Kerala high court on Wednesday sent notices to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and actors Tamannaah Bhatia and Aju Varghese over a petition against online rummy games. They endorse online rummy games. Petitioner Pauly Vadakkan alleged that online gambling is a growing menace in the state and the primary targets will be middle- to lowincome groups. People who fall prey to the fraud platforms often use what is left in their life savings, he said. He said the promoters’ repeated advertisements attract many to the online games and some of them have lost hefty amounts. He said some states have banned such games. The petition also said that there while were many laws to prevent gambling, in the online platform, there were no provisions to control such activities.
