Jayalalithaa’s house, converted into memorial, declared open
Late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s Veda Nilayam residence which was converted into a memorial by the government was declared open by chief minister K Palaniswami on Thursday. The premises, however, continues to remain out of bounds for the public in view of a Madras HC order on pleas by late CM’S nephew and niece against the notification for converting it into a memorial. The government moved a plea challenging the single judge’s interim order, the hearing of which is likely today.
